Sarang Sensei started his Karate career back in the year 1979 in India. He took free
Karate classes being offered by a Sensei Pitale head of the Pitale Martial Arts,in the
Central Mumbai area (Shisvena Bhavan- Dadar)
Under this banner, Sensei Sarang took classes in different areas of Mumbai such as
Kirti College, Bhavans College, Somaiya College, Dhavari Shramik Vidyapith, SNDT Girls
College and others.
He obtained his Shodan grade and stayed with Pitale Sensei until the year 1986. Due
to unwelcome politics, he decided to quit and joined Shihan Nirmal 4th dan, black belt
of the Fudoshin Martial Arts School.
Under Sensei Nirmal, he was trained in Judo, Karate, Kung-Fu and kick boxing and
obtained his Nidan Black Belt Certificate successfuly the first time. Immediately after
the Black Belt examination, Sarang Sensei got an opportunity to join Mumbai Police
Force (Especial Operations Squad)
During his Commando Training for SOS, Sarang Sensei was introduced to Shihan Vispy
Kapadia of Goju Kai  Karate-do - Gojukan India. He's a 6th degree black belt form the
Goju style under Yamaguchi Hanshi (deceased)
After four years of rigorous training, Sarang Sensei was awarded Shodan for the third
time in a different school of martial Arts. Two years later, Sensei Kapadia bestows
Sarang Sensei with his Second Degree black belt.
By the auspices of the Indo Karate & Sports Federation under Renshi Pradeep Mohite,
Sarang Sensei has been promoted to his 3rd, 4th and 5th Degree black belt. He has
also obtained a 5th degree Mastership by the Jeet Kune Do Federation of India.
At present, Sarang Sensei is the Chief Instructor of the Nihonsiki Karate & Sports
Federation (Goju Ryu style) Nihonsiki Karate Centres are found all over Mumbai with
black belts students trainied there reaching the 50 mark.
Sarang Sensei has achieved great goals and trained with some of the best known
Karate Masters in the world. For that reason we believe he could only benefit the
development and spread of the Goju Ryu style of Karate do in India under the banner
of Kenyukan Goju Ryu International, from which he has received full recognition.
In the Spring of 2006, Sensei Sarang visited Sydney for the International Gasshuku at
the Honbu, together with 5 other students. In this occassion, he was granted the rank
of Rokudan (6th dan) by Kaicho A de Araya, under the jurisdiction of the Kokusai
Kenyukan Goju Ryu Karate & Kobudo Kai.

Mumbai Dojo training at Kelve Beach, May 2007
NEW!!
An exciting event took place at Kelve Beach on the
25th May 2007, and after three days of hard
training, the students had the opportunity to
demonstrate their wares in Kata and Shiai
competition, as well as bieng tested for junior and
senior black belts.
They also enjoyed Yoga and Judo training, and a
great time was had by all.
