Sensei Comaschi started his Martial Arts career at the age of 8 years, and tried self defence in Mar del
Plata, Argentina. After a while, he moved on to the study of Shorin-Ryu, Shotokan and some Kung Fu, but at
the age of 18 he decides to concentrate his efforts in Goju Ryu and Kobudo.
Under the tutelage of Kanei Sensei 9th dan, he was named Shibu-cho of the Jinbukan School in Argentina,
and stayed in that position until the passing of the Master.
A few years later he is awarded Godan by the World Okinawa Karate Schools Federation, and later he is
granted the authority to represent the Kenyukan Goju Ryu International as their official Shibu-cho.
Sensei Comaschi has also participated actively in the development of the Martial Arts in Argentina, and
has put together an excellent curriculum next to his name. This curricula includes the practice of Kung Fu,
Kendo, Iaido, Aikido and also the serious practice of Tai-chi Chuan Yang style, Judo and Jiu jitsu.
In 2003, Sensei accumulated 25 years of research and practice of the Martial Arts, and also 15 years as
Chief Instructor of the Wabukan Dojos which he actually manages in Buenos Aires, Argentina and which
are now expanding throughout the country.
Sensei is a clear expression of the type of Instructor our style is looking for, and was recently awarded the
rank of Rokudan by the Kokusai Kenyukan Goju Ryu Karate and Kobudo Kai, and we believe he will
honestly and truthfully, will carry the traditions of our Okinawan fore bearers to the end.
In 2006, Comaschi Sensei has been named Vice President of the Kokusai Kenyukan Goju Ryu & Kobudo Kai
thanks to his efforts to maintain and develop the concepts of Goju Ryu karate in Argentina and indeed all
over Latin America.
At the Annual Gasshuku held in Buenos Aires last January, Shihan Comaschi was promoted to the rank of
Nanadan (7th dan) after 30 years of continuous service to the community and for his efforts in the
preservation of traditional martial arts in his country
